Lady Gaga, also known by the name of Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanyotta, started her career performing in burlesque and musical theatre in the New York's East Village. After years of struggle before finally making it the big time in 2005, when she recorded her debut album and wrote songs for Fergie, Britney Spears and the Pussycat dolls. The release of her first album, "The Fame", was not exactly profitable, however, five months after its release the first single from the album, "Just Dance", was playing everywhere. Her constant touring throughout Europe as well as smaller clubs across the US, had paid off, and by the end in 2009, many songs from the album were regular performances on the radio and she received multiple Grammy nominations and two Grammy Awards, for all of the hard work and determination. She continues to make amazing music and has made headlines since then.
